Health Q&A

Question:

I’m trying to lose about 15 kilogram, and I'm doing it the old fashioned way - no diets, just eating the right stuff and exercising. Should I start doing weights in the gym after I’ve lost that amount of weight? And are there any suggestions to keep things not so boring? from Kim

Answer:

The most important thing to remember when committing to a change in both diet and exercise habits for weight loss is that you keep adjusting the program, as the body gets used to changes reasonably quickly which can result in plateaus with weight loss. Aim to alter your diet every four weeks or so by increasing the size of your breakfast, taking at least one meal off each week and alternating types and amounts of snack foods. From an exercise perspective, the more varied your training sessions, the better the results will be - try sessions that use different machines, walking at different times of day and different paces and mix up both physical activity from walking with intense exercises of jogging, cycling and classes for the best ongoing results.
