Dr Tu’uhevaha Kaitu’u-Lino

Dr Tu’uhevaha Kaitu’u-Lino, 27, is a young scientist who has dedicated her research career to discovering why some women suffer from heavy, painful and prolonged periods. She completed her PhD last year; a feat made even more impressive considering she gave birth to her daughter midway through her studies.

Working at the Monash Institute of Medical Research, Tu’uhevaha is now investigating the role stem cells play in problem periods. Her long-term goal is to discover a way women can be treated for these debilitating conditions.

2A, we are all so proud of you - this is perfect recognition for being such a brilliant scientist and a wonderful person. Your determination and passion for researching such a crcuial, yet minimally studied and minutely funded area of women's health, is so very inspirational and of course so important for all us ladies. Congratulations and all the best x

Role model?? Whilst living an amazing life she is educated beyond belief, gorgeous, outgoing, and interested in not herself (you won't find self promotion), this woman has a bright future whilst enjoying every moment of research. Who knows what her brilliance will create for women tomorrow and in 30 years? Every young woman should aspire to this.
