UK singer Lily Allen isn't afraid of speaking out about her body image. She's blogged it all, from her lust for gastric bypass surgery to her love of pasta.
Cosmo: Do you care what people think?
Lily: Sometimes I pretend I don't, but I do deep down. When I see something horrible about myself on the Internet, I get upset.
Cosmo: Name one "ouch" moment.
Lily: The Kate Moss versus Lily Allen thing when my New Look clothes [line] came out after her Topshop range. All of the body issues I struggle with daily came up.
Cosmo: Explain?
Lily: I'm [an Australian] size 10 with a size eight top and I was made to feel fat next to Kate Moss. I'm not super-skinny, so in "Fameland", I'm fat Lily Allen.
Cosmo: What do you like best about yourself?
Lily: My eyes because they're big and brown.
Cosmo: Latest splurge?
Lily: I just spent $6800 on a Chanel suit. It should have been a classy moment … but my credit card was rejected! I was so mortified, I returned the next day with a cheque.
What's your feel-good "thing"?
I'll always choose doing my hair over make-up. Oh, and I love comfort food like bangers and mash.
