Just in time for Valentine's Day comes this news - millions of men are clueless about their partner's basic characteristics, like hair and eye colour.
According to a survey of 2000 British men (by The Daily Mail), 60 per cent believed they knew their partner inside out. But when probed, 12 per cent couldn't recall their partner's eye colour, 10 per cent didn't know her date of birth and 8 per cent didn't know her natural hair colour. What's more troubling is that 11 per cent didn't know their partner's job title, and 12 per cent couldn't name her best friend.
But relationships expert Francine Kaye says the results aren't indicative of men's lack of care - it's more about the way men and women differ in terms of communication.
"Men are wired differently. We're not talking about one in a 100 men
who fail to notice basic details. We're talking about the majority."Women remember friends' birthdays and tell them they look good. But there is no point in trying to make men like us.
