Sunscreen, check. Swimmers, check. Surfboard, check. Sexy dress, check. I am so excited I can hardly think… right now i am blogging from the airport about to board a flight to the Gold Coast for the 2010 Roxy Pro and Quiksilver Pro. Starting this Sat Feb 27 through to 10th March, the world’s best surfers are heading to Snapper Rocks, QLD to compete. 17 female surfers including the reigning three time world champ Stephanie Gilmore and world number five Sally Fitzgibbons will be competing and on the men’s side, they’ll be hot surfers like Kelly Slater, Joel Parkinson and Julian Wilson ripping it up in the surf. So why is the Fashion Director of Cosmopolitan going to a surf event? Well hello – for fun! BUT to also get a surf lesson from the Roxy girls, check out all the fashions on the sand and take part in all the festivities and activities they have there on offer: yoga, boxing lessons, skin consultations and live music. I’m also going to get my boobs cast in plaster for the Keep-A-Breast Foundation (bit worried about that one!) which is then going to be sent to an artist to paint and auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer which is a cause I definitely want to support. Anyway – got to run!! My last word is that the Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro are both free events packed full of entertainment so grab your swimmers and head there this weekend if you live on the Gold Coast and if not, live vicariously through me as I will be blogging from the event site on Monday and Tuesday.
