Plus-price for plus-size

Plus-sized clothing has been getting more than its fair share of press lately - and here's another piece of plus-sized news.

UK chain store New Look is under fire for charging £2 more for its range of plus-sized jeans (size 18 and above). The store explained its price rise, saying that while it normally absorbed the extra cost, occasionally it had to pass on the cost to consumers.

The price increase echoes that of Marks and Spencer, another UK store, which last month agreed to waive a £2 surcharge for DD bras.

Finally, why should ppl that look after themselves to keep at a healthy weight have the cover the cost of the extra fabric which is spread out over the entire range???

Good heavens - what a self centred attitude. So where does it end...... do those who are Size 6 feel affronted that the garment is also made in a size 8 and feel they should pay less as less fabric is used? I'd love to meet the arbiter of all things who apparently decides on all matters relating to size and health.

i agree with penny, and they should also pay more for airline tickets, im sick of getting charged excess baggage as a size 6 person when there are overweight people who weigh more than me and my luggage combined.

well then, shouldn't size 0's then pay even less as there would be less material used on their clothes? essentially they are paying for more than they are getting.
