Cosmo Q&A

The right stuff

Sydney-based dietician Susie Burrell has a simple and resonant motto: "It's your food, your body and your life." True, it's our job to take care of our bodies, but sometimes it's hard to stay on the path to purity! Luckily, Susie's here to lend a healthy hand! Submit your questions below.

Question:

When you hear that you need five servings of vegetables a day and each is the equivalent of one cup how can you fit all that in in one day unless you have vegies for breakfast and snacks as well?

Answer:

Try including a salad with your lunch or leftovers which have some vegetables in them such as stirfry or pasta then add an extra bowl of vegetables or soup to your dinner. Vegetable juice can also be a great way to increase your intake as can adding tomato, capsicum or mushrooms to your breakfast choice.
