Volunteer female firefighters, Country Fire Authority (Victorian bushfires)

Volunteer Fire Fighters
We were all moved by the stories of bravery and courage that emerged from the tragic scenes of the Victorian bushfires. Amid all the news stories about destruction and death, we also heard about the many people working behind the scenes to help the devastated communities – especially the volunteer fire fighters from the Country Fire Authority.

While this special group includes men and women across all ages, for this award we celebrate the 2311 female members aged between 18 and 30 who worked in a variety of roles, from fire fighting to media relations and admin support.

    As a female CFA volunteer, I know that we are on the fire front with the men. We do just as much as the men. Many of us are actually older than 30. I myself have just turned 50 and when that pager goes off, I am straight to the fire station and on the truck. A toast to all CFA female volunteers - WE ROCK.

    We have the Hottest (no pun intended) Fearless Female Firefighters in the State at Tallarook Victoria. All of whom saw service during the Black Saturday Campaign. I take this opportunity to thank and salute the Tallarook Females, and all Female Firefighters across the world.
