Zeta goes vintage
Zeta bar has earned a reputation as something of a Sydney hotspot and is about to launch its latest venture - Vintage Nights.
Inspired by the Prohibition, Grant Collins (aka mixologist extraordinaire, as well as the host for the evening) has put together a cocktail list of vintage and forgotten classics which hark back to the era.
According to Collins, "Speak easy bars were essentially illegal, so their existence had to be kept secret. The VIP Room will be transformed into a speak easy and completely closed off to the rest of Zeta bar, with drapes allowing patrons to enjoy their drinks in complete privacy."
Guests on the evening will be given a password which they must use in order to gain entry. Once inside you'll be transported back to the 20s, with bartenders dressed to impress in waistcoats and hats, a roaring fire and intimate seating. Keeping in theme with the evening, Prohibition classics like "Monkey Glands" and "Clover Clubs" will be served in paper bag wrapped glasses, teacups and metal goblets - if you are brave enough to get past some of the quirky names, you'll not regret trying these old-school cocktails.
If you are keen to experience something a bit different at one of Sydney's 'it' bars then don't miss out on this unique new night from Zeta. Vintage nights will be held in the VIP Room on Thursday 30th July and Thursday 27th August. The cost is $40pp including cocktails, canapés and special recipes to take home.
