As the seasons change, our wardrobes fill up with oversized trenches and knee-high boots, but the ultimate accessory we seek to pair our chilly looks with is a new hair do!

Whether you’re committed to a total refresh and transformation, or a subtle tweak that won’t go unnoticed, there is something for everyone in the trends this season.

In need of some guidance? We spoke to Anthony Nader, editorial stylist and Creative Director of RAW Salon, for his take on the haircuts, styles and colours that will take over in Autumn and Winter 2025 — you’ll want to note this down for inspiration at your next hair appointment.

Beware, this is not for the faint hearted.

“Don’t shoot the messenger (that would be me),” says Anthony, “but this is the new famed bob that has become famous, from Koh Samui to around the globe, thanks to The White Lotus Season 3.”

This sleek, short style seizing the season has everyone running to their stylists, “all thanks to Leslie Bibb, whose extremely confident, blunt and above the jawline bob” is the moment.

Anthony advises that the key to pulling off this must-have bob is to “have angular facial features, be daring enough to cut above the neck line, and not have a layer or bangs in sight.”

If you’re not *quite* willing to commit fully, you can always lean in with a slightly longer, Gracie Abrams-style cut.

‘Tis the season of short hair! Enter the re-emergence of the Pixie Cut! (especially on Emma Stone)

“How incredible does Emma Stone look with her cropped pixie?” Anthony says, referencing her Oscars Red Carpet debut.

If you’re opting for a less harsh and blunt cut, this cut “hugs your hairline for an added softness,” says Anthony.

The powerful, practical and perfectly pretty pixie is the ultra-feminine hair style with just the right amount of structure. Although short, this haircut is still versatile, Anthony adds: “When it grows, you can have more styling options to play with products.”

So if you’re tired of the guaranteed arm workout when curling your locks, this one is for you!

Long Layers

The million dollar question Anthony answers is how many clients sit and ask for Kaia Gerber’s hair — spoiler, the answer is: “lost count!”

Kaia’s signature long, soft and layered hair is the definition of a low-maintenance-but-still-cool-girl hair. Anthony advises that by “adding seamless layers throughout the hair, you get this lightness and airiness. It gives you more ways to change up your style depending on whether you’re at the office or cocktails with the girls.”

This haircut “wants to please,” offering a soft shape with endless flexibility.

The Root Shadow

Your roots called and they told us they want a break from excessive lightening (it’s true!) To the rescue, Root Shadow!

“This is your time to soften the blow from all the over-colouring,” says Anthony.  Blending your natural root colour with balayage or highlights for a more seamless grow out will have you “not only adding more dimension, but more of a natural regrowth,” he explains.

The best part is, you can skip the salon as you “won’t be getting that dreaded harsh re-growth in 3-4 weeks” and it won’t look like you’ve given up!

“Think Hailey Bieber here, Cosmo readers” Anthony says. The it-girl colour blends “chocolate, coffee and a cozy creamy warmth” all in one to avoid that boring drab brown.

The subtle-yet-luxe hair colour perfectly pairs with all your winter coats and favourite lippy avoiding any flatness in appearance, rather “inviting a softness and depth at the same time, which adds a plump richness and bring to life the dullest of hair strands,” explains Anthony.

Honestly, we are obsessed.

So whether you’re deciding between picking up the scissors or zhuzhing up your colour, this season’s hair trends are all about balance between softness, ease and structure. Get to screenshotting your inspo and book that hair appointment!
