Many have tried to replicate Sabrina’s perfect blowout and bouncy bangs, but now some are speculating that her luscious locks are just too good to be true.
In fact, the 25-year-old pop star has been the subject of “wig allegations,” after a handful of TikTokers were left flabbergasted as to how her spectacular ‘do remained so perfect while she’s performing on her tour.
Scroll on for a break-down of the rumours, and to see how Sabrina Carpenters has responded to the speculation.
Does Sabrina Carpenter Wear a Wig?
There’s no denying Sabrina’s hair is great. Bouncy, curly and perfectly coiffed—could it be some kind of hairpiece? Extensions, maybe?
Multiple TikTok theories have emerged that the ‘Good Graces’ singer is wearing a wig while she’s up on stage, with many of the conspiracy posts quickly finding support in the comments.
A clip posted of Sabrina performing hit song ‘Coincidence’ had onlookers convinced that her hair flick revealed some taped-in hair extensions and a possible fringe toupé. But we’ll let you be the judge.
@stagediary okay i know we’re over wig gate but i need to talk about this !! #sabrinacarpenter #shortnsweet #wig #extensions #hair #fyp ♬ original sound - Stage Diary 🎶📸🦋
Earlier this week, TikTok creator Bella Sprague shared her opinion on Carpenter’s hair, noting it would actually be a wise choice for the ‘Espresso’ singer to wear a wig to protect her natural strands. “She should wear a wig because doing your hair in that style especially when you’re a blonde is so damaging,” Sprague explained.
Whilst Bella used the popular debate to discuss the protective value of wigs for performers, others have chosen to deeply inspect the singer’s hair and dissect her locks from different video angles.

How Does Sabrina Carpenter Do Her Hair?
Amid all the talk, Sabrina’s hairstylist Scott King broke down *exactly* how he styled Miss Carpenter’s hair following her September 29, show at Madison Square Garden.
He captioned a picture of the singer on stage: “I prepped Sabrina’s hair by blowing out her hair with the @wavytalkofficialblowdryer overdirecting the hair when drying to create the most volume.” Scott continued, “After it was dry I used the Wavy Talk 5-in-1 curling wand set using the 1 [inch] attachment and set her hair in small 1 [inch] sections. After the hair cooled I took down her hair and combed through the curls with a wide tooth comb so the curls separated a little bit but still held the shape of the bouncy curl.”
Without a wig or hair extension in sight, fans commented under the post thanking the hairstylist for seemingly setting the record straight. “Thank you Scott we’re getting wig allegations since the tour started,” a fan wrote, as another added, “Hair so good everyone thinks it’s a wig lol.”
What Has Sabrina Said?
So Scott has *kind of* spoken out—but what has Sabrina said?
When the rumour mill first began to turn, Sabrina didn’t directly comment on the wig debate, but instead reposted an Instagram post from comedian Megan Stalter on her stories.
Captioned, “Woman tells life partner about Sabrina Carpenter’s hair piece,” the post consisted of Stalter telling a partner all about how she could not determine if Carpenter wore a wig, poking fun at the speculation and the level of attention the rumours have gained.
However, in her typically unserious manner, Sabrina dodged the question with a humorous response when asked about wearing a wig in a recent interview with Time Magazine. “I will not confirm or deny,” she said. “Yeah…I don’t even know what a wig is, but I also don’t know what not a wig is.”
Wig or no wig, we’re hoping to see her blonde ‘do in all of its glory Down Under next year. The songstress has hinted that the Short ‘n Sweet Tour will get an Antipodean leg… but more on that here.
