Ellidy Pullin is the embodiment of effortless beauty so when it came time to selecting Cosmo’s Summer Digital Cover star, it was a natural alignment. The award-winning author, podcaster and Covergirl ambassador is a quintessential beach babe, whose connection to the ocean is innate. “I live right by the beach, it’s a huge part of my everyday life and feels like overall therapy,” she tells Cosmopolitan Australia’s Editor-in-Chief, Tessa Ogle.
Ellidy grew up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches—where her Cosmo cover shoot was held—and the area’s laid-back lifestyle has informed her approach to makeup (which, she explains, doesn’t really change season-to-season).
“I go as natural as possible with the face coverage,” says Ellidy. “A bit of the Covergirl Clean Invisible Foundation will do me. I like to focus more now on accentuating my brows with the Clean Fresh Brow Gel Wax and lips with Yummy Gloss!”
For the shoot, makeup artist Brooke Low embraced this summery, clean girl take. Scroll on for her break down of how to recreate both of Ellidy’s Cosmopolitan Australia cover shoot looks at home.

Look One

“Ellidy is a natural beauty so just adding a light coverage of foundation will give her that skin like finish. Apply primer first & then the Covergirl Clean Invisible Foundation which is buildable & melts into the skin beautifully without clogging pores. Her eyes are royal blue so you can never go wrong with a soft bronze eyeshadow. I always blend on a medium matte shadow first,” Brooke explains.
“A tip for applying bronze eyeshadow is to use your finger tip for shimmer colours as it becomes more pigmented coming from your finger than a makeup brush. I’m a fan of a smudge brown shadow eyeliner on the top and bottom lashes instead of a black liquid liner. Her brows are lush & only need a gel brush up and a soft fill on with the nano pencil. I like setting the brows first allowing the gel to set then fill with the nano pencil. When applying cream bronzer and highlighters for daytime wear, the best brush to apply any cream colours is a synthetic angel brush rather than a natural hair brush as they don’t blend creams well,” Brooke adds.
“I also love to apply cream blush to the apples of her cheeks with my finger tips and then blend upwards with my palms. Gives Ellidy that fresh flushed look. Her lips are so luscious already that she only needs the Clean Fresh Yummy Gloss in Sunset Skies. The Glosses are one of Ellidy faves! This type of makeup is great for everyday/work and can be easily turned into a night look with a few makeup tweaks which I’ll share on the next look.”

COVERGIRL Clean Fresh Brow Gel
$21.95
- The flexible-hold, workable gel wax dries down to a non-sticky and non-crunchy finish for feathered, texturised brows
- Infused with Browcare ingredients, Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid and Pro-Vitamin B5, the clean vegan formula is sweat, smudge and transfer resistant
- Its small cone-shaped brush allows for a precise, mess-free application
Look Two

“I have kept the same makeup from Look One and added an iconic Covergirl red lipstick and defined her eyes,” says Brooke. “This look is great for a party or wedding!”
“Firstly, I added a more intense reddish-bronze to Ellidy’s middle eye lids. A tip to make pigment pop is to mist the brush a few times with setting spray, then apply to the lid and under the lash line. This will also make the shadow stay put all day and night. I added a darker bronzer shadow to the upper lash line and added more black mascara to intensify her blue eyes, too.”
“A tip for red lips is to outline the lips with a flesh coloured eyeliner, which helps to stop bleeding,” she adds. “I always apply a lipliner first and then the lipstick, starting from the middle of the lips.”
