Okay, so nothing has come directly through Austin’s (perfect) lips, but it has been speculated that he could be in the early days of a new relationship with Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline.
Celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi broke the rumour via a blind item on its Instagram. An anonymous tipster claimed they had spotted Austin and Madelyn out for dinner.
DeuxMoi touched on the news in their podcast, explaining that “the sighting was sent at the end of January, and the thing that made me stop was the restaurant they saw them at, allegedly. I have been there and I know that it is a celebrity-frequented spot.”
“[The restaurant is] not one that you see on my account often… so kind of random that [the insider] added this restaurant into the sighting and then asked for it to be taken out. That’s what has made me think it’s true.”
Who Has Austin Butler Previously Dated?
Kaia Gerber (2021-2025)
Austin and Kaia were initially spotted attending a breezy yoga class together back in December 21, 2021. Following this, a source told US Weekly the two were “low-key dating,” and that it was “still very new.” The Pair made it official arriving hand-in-hand at W Magazine’s Best Performances in Jan this year, where a photo of Austin giving Kaia a kiss on the cheek inside the event was shared.
While they didn’t comment on their break-up, sources in contact with People in January 2025 seemingly confirmed rumours that Kaia had moved on with actor Lewis Pullman. A People insider spilled: “They’ve been spending time together the last few weeks,” the source said, adding, “They’re a cute couple and very low-key.”
Lily-Rose Depp (2021)
Pre-Kaia, Austin was rumoured to be in a relationship with Lily-Rose Depp in August 2021 after photos of the pair locking lips out on a date in London surfaced. While relationship speculation swirled, neither Austin nor Lily-Rose confirmed or denied that they were romantically involved with one another.
Olivia DeJonge (2020)
In the process of shooting Elvis, Austin was rumoured to be involved his Aussie co-star, actress Olivia DeJonge. The two were said to be dating for the majority of 2020 whilst shooting on the Gold Coast of Australia. They caught the eyes of the public after they were sighted cuddling up together at a movie theatre before then being seen out-and-about together on many occasions later that same year.
The dazzling duo have never publicly commented on their rumours relationship, so we can’t definitely say what went down, or if their fleeting relationship was ever anything more than a fun fling.

Spanning almost a decade, Austin was loved up with Disney darling, Vanessa Hudgens. The couple shared the news of their split in 2020, just one month before their 10-year relationship anniversary. Sources confirmed to Us Weekly, “Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup.”
While the pair never publicly confirmed the motivation behind their split, many fans were quick to assume that their conflicting schedules could have been the catalyst.
