Cara Delevingne has long been the ultimate cool-girl enigma—a powerhouse model, actress and advocate who has turned heads and flipped the script on what it means to be a modern-day celebrity. Rising to fame with her bold brows and pure it-girl energy, she ruled the runways of every major fashion capital and became the face of high-fashion campaigns, from Chanel to Burberry. But Cara is more than just a model; she’s an unapologetic trailblazer with a razor-sharp wit and a heart that champions authenticity.

For this reason, her Walk Your Worth ambassadorship for L’Oréal Paris is the perfect fit. In late September, L’Oréal Paris hosted the seventh edition of Le Défilé (a L’Oréal Paris runway) at the Opéra de Paris, celebrating women’s empowerment and diversity through beauty. This year’s theme? Walk Your Worth. And at her core, Cara is, in fact, a walking manifesto of living life on your own terms, with a healthy dose of rebellion, laughter and fierce love for being yourself.

Refreshingly open about her struggles with mental health and identity, Cara is a relatable touchpoint in a world that often demands perfection. Whether she’s sharing a light personal moment, advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, or opening up about mental-health struggles, Cara embodies self-acceptance and confidence. In light of her L’Oréal ambassadorship, Cara spoke to Cosmo about her blueprint for truly walking your worth in a meaningful way.

Cara’s code to walking your worth...

1. . Embrace your imperfections

True confidence doesn’t come from pretending to be perfect; instead, it comes from actively recognising that flaws are what make us human and allow us to connect with each other. Cara champions this ethos as an individual and in her partnership with L’Oréal Paris. “We’re all human. We all have flaws. If I can be honest about mine, that can help people feel less alone,” Cara tells Cosmo, reinforcing the brand’s message that “because you’re worth it” applies to everyoneflaws and all.

"Knowing that we don’t have to justify our existence on the planet through achievements and the approval of others is a powerful tool"

2. Cultivate daily practices for groundedness

Mindfulness practices are a great way to stay balanced and grounded. Whether it’s a morning ritual, yoga practice or simply taking a moment to breathe, Cara is committed to nurturing her mental health. Dedicated to holistic wellness, Cara is an advocate for confidence starting within. “Yoga or meditation is really helpful for anxiety and stress,” she shares.

3. Walk Your Worth every day

“When you Walk Your Worth and you’re doing that every day, every step you take, you are feeling that and you are letting that empower you,” says Cara, when asked why L’Oréal Paris’s message of walking your worth is so important. When we move through life with an understanding of our inherent value, there is a confidence that follows. Knowing that we don’t have to justify our existence on the planet through achievements and the approval of others is a powerful tool.

4. Practise gratitude

The impact of a consistent gratitude practice cannot be underestimated. Taking the time to regularly remind yourself of what you’re thankful for is a simple tool that’s highly impactful. When you’re able to shift your focus to the positive aspects of life, a deeper sense of appreciation and confidence tends to develop. Take it from Cara: “Going through a list of things that I am so happy for and grateful for … reminds you why life is such an incredible and amazing gift.”

"Self-worth is a daily practice ... strive to do the best you can with what you have that day, and to be gentle with yourself."

5. Surround yourself with a supportive community

You can’t underestimate the role a supportive network of like-minded individuals can play when it comes to self-appreciation and fulfilment. The positive trickle-down effect of surrounding yourself with people who uplift you is endless. “Having a community and women who work together, I think, is the most important thing, and I’ve always believed that,” Cara tells Cosmo. And this appreciation for community aligns with L’Oréal Paris’s initiative that spotlights diverse voices and strong female figures, fostering connections that inspire confidence and self-acceptance.

6. Be gentle with yourself

Don’t be so hard on yourself! Certainly easier said than done, of course, but it can help to remember confidence is a practice, and not a constant state. Be kind to yourself, and recognise that striving for self-worth is an ongoing process. In Cara’s words: “Self-worth is a daily practice … strive to do the best you can with what you have that day, and to be gentle with yourself.”
