This Barbie is a mum! Although details of Margot Robbie’s pregnancy have been kept under wraps since the announcement in July, reports have emerged that she gave birth to a baby boy about two weeks ago.
According to The Daily Mail, Margot welcomed her first child with husband Tom Ackerley on October 17th, and “all is well” with the new parents and their bub. This was only a few days after Tom was seen stocking up on baby supplies not far from their Venice Beach home.
It’s public knowledge that Tom and Margot started as good friends, grew to become lovers, co-produced a couple of movies together, and are now co-parents.

2013: Margot Robbie & Tom Ackerly first meet
The two first met while on set of the war drama film Suite Française. Ackerley was an assistant director on the project, whilst his now-wife Robbie landed an onscreen role as Celine, per People.
2014: They start dating & living together
Margot moved to London with Tom, along with Sophia Kerr and Josey McNamara, who all co-founded their production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. In the same year, Robbie and Ackerley commence dating by publicly confirming their romance with an ice hockey date at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The Babylon babe reflected on the low-key nature of their relationship in its early days, sharing with The Guardian: “We kept it a secret. Because we weren’t really taking it seriously. ‘Oh, whatever, we’re just mates, we’re just mates.’ And then … everyone found out.”
When Sophia and Josey—their roommates at the time—caught wind of their new romance, the actress explained that “It was dramatic. I’m not going into the details, but shit hit the fan. Our house turned into The Jerry Springer Show for a moment there. But then the dust settled, and it was all good. … The wider friendship survived! Everyone was, like: ‘No! This is going to ruin our group!’ And then it didn’t. It was fine.”
2016: Margot & Tom tie the knot!
Robbie also went on the record telling The Daily Telegraph’s Sunday Style in June 2016, “The most helpful thing I’ve learned from other couples in this industry is that you don’t go more than three weeks without seeing each other. Being in a long-distance relationship can be really hard when you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. It can mess with your head, so the three-week rule is key.”
Come December, US broke the news that the Hollywood twosome quietly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at a private estate on the Gold Coast, Australia.
So—that three-week rule appears to have worked out pretty nicely for them.
2017: Their first red carpet appearance together
The two stepped out onto the red carpet, hand-in-hand, for the first time as a married couple to attend the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. Tom appeared for the premiere in support of Margot who was starring in I, Tonya.
2018-2021: Margot talks about married life and future family plans
The Oscar nominee told PORTER magazine in 2018 that she has “the most fun” being Ackerley’s wife.
“Even if we both have to fly to a country in between where we both are for one night, we’ll do it and then fly back to work the next day. And we speak all day every day on the phone,” she said of managing the duo’s busy schedules.
She divulged some information about the pair’s plan for a family sharing: “If I’m looking into my future 30 years from now, I want to see a big Christmas dinner with tons of kids there. But definitely not at the moment. That’s 100 percent certain.”
In 2021, The Mary Queen of Scots actress joked about her husband’s deathly fear of snakes during an appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden. “He’s English. You guys don’t have them, obviously, really at all in England, I guess,” she explained, pointing out that she grew up around “heaps of wildlife” Down Under.
2023: Robbie and Ackerley go on Baribie press tour together
In another rare occurrence, Ackerley stepped out on the red carpet to join Robbie at several photo calls around the world during the Barbie press tour in May, June and July of 2023. The blockbuster film was co-produced by the couple, making their press appearances together all the more special.

2024: They welcome their baby boy!
Earlier this year the talented twosome were smiling ear-to-ear attending the 81st annual Golden Globes together. Robbie looked stunning beside her hubby in a black and pale pink Armani Privé gown.
In July, People Reported that the pair were expecting their first child together, and an insider revealed that they “wanted to start a family for quite some time.”
“Family means a lot to both of them and they knew early on in their relationship being parents was something they really wanted,” the source explained. “They’ve been keeping it under wraps for a while but are happy the news is out.”
Four months later, it has been officially confirmed that Margot and Tom have welcomed their first child into the world! Daily Mail just reported that “the 34-year-old Australian star went into labour two weeks ago, shortly before her due date, and ‘all is well’.”
