Dearest gentle reader, a new match has debuted on the ‘Ton (well, almost — at the grounds of London’s All Points East Festival).
In September 2024, rumours that Nicola Coughlan was in a new relationship sparked after she was papped canoodling with Jake Dunn at the festival. Months on, the Bridgerton Season 3 star has confirmed the romance by debuting her beau on the red carpet.
You might recognise 25-year-old Jake from his recent role in Renegade Nell — in which he happened to act alongside Nicola’s former Derry Girls co-star, Louisa Harland (fun fact).

Is Nicola Coughlan Dating Jake Dunn?
Finally!!! Following months of romance rumours, Nicola seemingly confirmed that she is in a relationship with British film producer and actor, Jake Dunn.
The couple stepped out in April 2025, appearing quite smitten together at the BAFTA Nominees Party in London.
Now, has our lovely Lady Whistledown *explicitly* said the words “we are dating”… no. But a picture tells a thousand words, right? Becoming red carpet official is the next best thing, so forgive us for thinking it’s a pretty safe bet.
Nicola also shared a sweet snap of Jake to her Instagram story on February 12, 2025, to commemorate the now 25-year-old’s birthday. Although Nicola kept it brief with a cute “Happy Birthday ❤️” message, this was the first time fans gained an insight into her relationship with the handsome Brit.
Earlier on in their relationship, Deuxmoi shared photos of the pair enjoying a game of Scrabble back in late July. The celebrity blog initially said they “still don’t know” if Nicola and Jake are “dating,” before joking, “We might have spoke too soon,” when the festival snaps emerged.
Nicola and Jake were also spotted together with another of his co-stars, Alice Kremelberg at the Renegade Nell premiere.
Who Is Jake Dunn?
Jake Dunn is a British actor and producer who graduated from Guildhall’s drama school in 2022, per SCMP.
He has a pretty impressive resumé, with roles in Renegade Nell, Get Even, The Bastard Son & the Devil Himself, Rebel Cheer Squad: A Get Even Series and Big Boys (the latter of which stars another Derry Girls alum, Dylan Llewellyn).
What Is the Age Gap Between Nicola Coughlan and Jake Dunn?
If 2024 proved anything, it’s that age gap relationships can not only work, but be really beneficial. We’ve especially seen the script flipped on the trope of a younger woman dating an older man, with super hot films like A Family Affair and The Idea of You starring an older female lead opposite a younger partner.
At the time of writing, Nicola is 37 and Jake is 25.
