Time and time again, Sydney Sweeney has proved her range. From rom-coms to teen dramas to psychological thrillers, the actress can do it all (plus, she’s *really* good with cars). Her latest venture? A boxing biopic… for which she has undergone a major physical transformation.
The actress is playing legendary boxer and Hall of Famer, Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic, which was confirmed when she shared photos from set back in October. In them, Sydney showed off some very impressive biceps, flexing her muscles while posing in a curly, brunette wig and oversized muscle tank.
“Over the past few months, i’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring,” Sydney wrote in the caption. “[Christy’s] journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all. more to come soon.”
Sydney has otherwise remained mum, for the most part, about the flick. However, that privacy hasn’t stopped trolls for coming for her online.

On December 14, Sydney clapped back at haters who have been body-shaming her online, uploading a clap-back video to Instagram. The clip featured a montage of vile social media comments—largely of netizens scrutinising the actor’s physical appearance—followed by snaps and clips of Sydney working out, training for the role.
Her famous friends were quick to praise her in the comments. Fellow actress Madelyn Cline wrote, “I truly love it here,” and Lili Reinhart added, “It’s always wild to see people publicly out-themselves as pieces of shit with comments like that. You look incredible and your dedication to your project is very inspiring 
.”
Sydney’s Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell also entered the chat, commenting, “You’re such a badass. This movie is gonna be 
“.
Who Is Christy Martin?
Christy Martin is a former professional boxer who is colloquially regarded as the “female Rocky.”
The biopic reportedly charts her journey to becoming America’s most famous female boxer in the ’90s. It will reportedly also cover the attempt on Christy’s life by her then-husband James V. Martin, who is currently serving a prison sentence for attempted second-degree murder, in 2010.
