When BECKHAM debuted on Netflix last year, the documentary series placed its subject, former England captain David Beckham, squarely back in the spotlight. However, while David found himself in headlines, he wasn’t necessarily the star of (his own) show. Rather, BECKHAM’s most endearing character was arguably his wife, former Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria Beckham (“BE HONEST,” you loved her.)
Victoria’s dry humour incited countless memes—and a ‘my dad drives a Rolls Royce’ T-shirt—and with that, Posh won the affection of a new generation.
The folks over at Netflix have evidently realised the power of her star because Victoria will now be getting a documentary of her own, the streamer announced on August 21.
The documentary series promises to get up close and personal with Posh as she juggles her work and family life. Scroll on for everything we know about the currently-untitled project so far.
What Is the Victoria Beckham Documentary Series About?
While BECKHAM chronicled David’s rise to fame, Victoria’s series will be set in the present.
According to Netflix’s announcement, the doco will follow the star as she builds her fashion and beauty empire. The streamer promises that “Fans will be able to see the story behind it all.”
Victoria’s family, friends and colleagues are also due to make appearances. Here’s hoping for a Spice Girls reunion, pls and thx!
The project is being produced by Nicola Howson, the brain behind BECKHAM, and Julia Nottingham, who helmed Pamela Anderson’s recent documentary, Pamela: A Love Story.
When Will the Victoria Beckham Docuseries Be Realeased?
A release date for the untitled series is yet to be confirmed. Netflix confirmed that production has just begun so unfortunately, we might have to wait a while.
In the meantime, we’ll be over here re-watching BECKHAM for the tenth time.
