2024 truly is the year of the TikTok exposé. In February, user ReesaTeesa uploaded a 50-part, 500 minute story-time explaining how she was allegedly deceived into marrying someone, titled Who The Fuck Did I Marry?. Then, in July, influencer and podcaster Brooke Schofield riffed off this title with a bombshell series of her own. In her videos, Brooke took aim at her ex-boyfriend, signer Clinton Kane, who she claimed lied about being Australian, among other things.
Now, Maya Henry, the ex-fiancée of One Direction singer, Liam Payne, has taken to the clock app with some claims about her former partner. Maya, 23, and Liam, 31, reportedly dated between 2019-2021 (although the exact timeline of their relationship is unclear), and allegedly called off their engagement twice in that three-year period.
Maya Henry Speaks On 1D Drama
On October 6, Maya dueted a TikTok video featuring the text, “i lied. put your clothes back on. we’re going to discuss who we think threw liam payne up a wall.”
The upload refers to a comment Liam made during a controversial appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast in 2022.
After claiming the One Direction boys occasionally got physical with each other backstage, Liam recalled a specific incident. The singer claimed, “There was one moment where there was an argument backstage, and one member in particular threw me up a wall.”
Liam claims he then told the alleged offender, “If you don’t remove those hands, there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again.”
Liam did not reveal which of his former band mates he was talking about, and Directioners have been left pondering ever since.
In her duet, Maya says, “Okay, I’ve heard this insufferable story so many times…[Liam] told me it was Zayn.”
What Else Did Maya Henry Say?
Naturally, some Directioners were swift to react to Maya’s TikTok, with one commenting, “Talking about anything in the world: noooo.. talking about my ex over and over: yes.”
Maya replied to that comment with a nearly nine-minute follow-up video, in which she made more claims about her ex’s alleged behaviour, addressed the hate she continues to receive, and spoke on the fan culture that continues to surround One Direction, nearly 10 years after the band split.
Maya made several more claims in that video, including that Liam continues to contact her.
“You’re calling me obsessed, y’all don’t even know what happens behind closed doors or in private. Ever since we broke up he messages me, blows up my phone, not only from his phone number but it’s always from different phone numbers …He’ll create new iCloud accounts to iMessage me,” Maya said. She also claimed that Liam emails her and tried to contact her mother.
Maya also clapped back at 1D fans saying she was with Liam for money, telling her audience the singer “never paid for anything.”
Perhaps most sadly for any Directioners holding out hope for a reunion, Maya also claimed Liam “talks shit about his bandmates.” She added, “He goes to their concerts and tries to take the attention away from everyone.”
Maya also noted that Liam attended Louis Tomlinson’s concert earlier this year, the day her book Looking Forward came out.
“Funny how he pops up at Louis’ concert the day my book comes out. He knows if he’s with the boys, he gets attention and can deflect [things], it’s crazy the impact it has on social media,” Maya said, among other things.
At the time of writing, Maya’s TikTok has been viewed 2.7 million times. Liam has not commented on the allegations.
