It’s time to grab your web-shooters and dust off your vibranium shields, my fellow Avengers enthusiasts, because the big dogs at Marvel Studios have *finally* unveiled the star-studded cast of Avengers: Doomsday — and it’s a massive lineup!
During a livestream event on Wednesday 26 March, each actor was unveiled one at a time with a glimpse at the back of their director’s chairs shown to the crowd. The cast announcement was concluded with the one and only, Robert Downey Jr., who is set to play the villainous Doctor Doom in the highly anticipated film. As for the rest if the star-studded cast? Scroll on a list for every actor confirmed!

Channing Tatum as Gambit
Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor
Tom Hiddleston is returning to play Loki
X-Men’s Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, along with Alan Cumming, who played Nightcrawler; Rebecca Romijn, who played Mystique; James Marsden, who played Cyclops; and Kelsey Grammer, who played Beast.
- All four members of the new Fantastic Four: Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn and Pedro Pascal as as Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, Johnny Storm and Reed Richards, respectively.

Also, Marvel is no stranger to a few surprise cameos, so we wouldn’t count out the other OG Avengers just yet. USA Today previously reported that Captain America actor Chris Evans may be returning for Doomsday, despite his absence from the announcement stream. Other notable Marvel franchise names missing from the list were Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Mark Ruffalo, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jeremy Renner and Hugh Jackman.
Avengers: Doomsday Release Date
Mark your calendars!!! Avengers: Doomsday will be released on May 1, 2026. And if that want enough, it will be followed by the premiere of Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
