We can’t deny it… we have missed seeing Ms. Bridget Jones bumble through life. Yep, eight years after the release of Bridget Jones’s Baby, and more than two decades since the OG Bridget Jones’s Diary, the beloved franchise is back for a fourth instalment.
Despite the ending of the third Bridget Jones film, the hapless heroine hasn’t *quite* reached her happy-ever-after.
Rather, in her fourth feature-length tale, she’s faced with a brand new set of challenges that we can’t wait to see her take on—with her trademark unbroken spirit, and more that likely a couple of ciggies, of course. The film will also introduce a brand-new romance for the character, with a famous Gen Z heartthrob joining the roster of famous men who have played her love interests.
Scroll on for everything you need to know about Bridget Jones 4—which is *officially* titled Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy—including who’s heart she’s vying for this time, and when you’ll be able to watch it.
Bridget Jones 4 Cast
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will, of course, see Renée Zellweger reprise the title role. Previous cast members, Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson will also be making a return.
However, the fourth film is set to introduce a new love interest for Bridget—a 29-year-old named Roxter. The younger man is played by Leo Woodall, who you might recognise from Netflix’s heart-breaking limited series, One Day and The White Lotus Season 2.
What Is Bridget Jones 4 About?
Unlucky in love, the fourth instalment of Bridget Jones sees the lead character single again, following the death of her husband, Mark. She has been left to raise two small children on her own and, according to the trailer, starts up a fling with a much-younger man named Roxster (yes, really).
When & Where To Watch Bridget Jones 4
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is set for release just in time for Valentines day next year on February 13, 2025. It will air via Peacock in the US, and will have an international release in theatres through Universal Pictures. An Australian outlet has not yet been confirmed.
However, if you’re feeling reminiscent and don’t want to wait that long, Bridget Jones’s Diary and Bridget Jones’s Baby are available to stream on Binge, meanwhile Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason can be watched via Apple TV.
