The wait is over! Following the conclusion of Heartstopper Season 3, fans have been anxiously awaiting a Season 4 announcement — aka confirmation as as to whether or not we’ll get an official wrap up of story of Nick and Charlie’s story. Now, it’s finally here

So... Is Heartstopper Season 4 Happening?
While we have confirmation that a final instalment of Hearstopper is in the works, it’s not what you might be thinking. In lieu of a fourth season, Netflix has announced a movie will mark the conclusion of the Heartstopper franchise.
Alice Oseman, creator of the series and author of the comics that the series is based on, made the announcement on Instagram saying she is, “Deeply relieved and so excited for this new creative venture”. In a statement, Oseman stated that, “I am completely overjoyed that we will get to tell the end of the Heartstopper story”.
There’s also some more exciting news: Kit Connor and Joe Locke, who star in the series as Nick and Charlie, will serve as executive producers on the film, joining Oseman, Euros Lyn, Patrick Walters, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman.
What Will the Movie Be About?
While we don’t have all the details of the plot just yet (Oseman is said to be still writing the script), we have some hints from the writer herself, as well as Netflix. She has revealed that the film will be based on Volume 6 of the Heartstopper comics and the Nick and Charlie novella, so we have some clues.
Netflix also released this synopsis:
“Nick and Charlie are inseparable, but with Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them. Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet. Meanwhile, their friends are also navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship, confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on. Can first loves really last forever?”

When Will it be Released?
With filming set to begin this summer in the UK, it shouldn’t be too long before Nick and Charlie are back on our screens for the Hearstopper film.
