Timothée Chalamet wasn’t kidding when he said he’s determined to achieve greatness, because the boy sure is booked and busy: to wit, he’s currently starring and co-producing a new film! Timmy’s upcoming Marty Supreme movie is loosely inspired by the tale of IRL champion ping pong player, Marty Reisman, and from what we know so far, leaves little to the imagination.
Here’s where things get juicy; with himself cast in the film alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, and the pair are said to share quite a few raunchy scenes — a tidbit that’s gone viral since Gwyneth revealed she told the intimacy coordinator they can “step back” on set.

Who Is Gwyneth Paltrow's Character In Marty Supreme?
After taking a step back from the big-screen, Gwyneth is jumping into this new role with no inhibitions. Without many character details having been released yet, Gwyn revealed to Vanity Fair that she plays a “woman who is married to someone who is in the Ping-Pong mafia” and finds herself getting up to no good with Timothée as the table tennis legend, before his glory days.
On-set images that surfaced in late 2024 taken in Central Park, NY, and reveal Gwyneth donning a red gown as she’s pinned against a wall by Timothée. Ooh la la!
But this is nothing… She shared in the same Vanity Fair interview: “We have a lot of sex in this movie . . . There’s a lot – a lot.” When speaking on her first experience with an intimacy coordinator, she felt it wasn’t necessary. “I was like, ‘Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera’s on,’ ” Gwyn shared.
“We said, ‘I think we’re good. You can step a little back. I don’t know how it is for kids who are just starting out, but . . . if something is like, ‘Okay, and then he’s going to put his hand here‘… I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that,” she further explained.
Who Was Marty Supreme?
The film is loosely based on the late American table tennis champion, Martin Reisman, who won 22 major table tennis championships, including two US Opens and a British Open before passing at the age of 82 in 2012.
Timothée plays the downtown Manhattan local who was the son of a cabdriver, and found himself enthralled by the game of table tennis when he was just nine years old, quickly earning the title of junior champion at 13. In 1958 and 1960 Marty became the U.S. men’s singles champion.

Who Is In The Cast Of Marty Supreme?
Along with some incredible writing and marvellous cinematography talents, the film is set to have one epic cast list. Joining Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow, we will see Tyler, The Creator, Fran Drescher, Sandra Bernhard, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Penn Jillette, Abel Ferrera, and Spenser Granese, all taking on important roles!
When Will Marty Supreme Be Released In Australia?
The Indie film company co-producing the movie with Timmy, A24, has shared Marty Supreme is scheduled to be released in the US on 25 December, 2025. However, there has been no official Australian release date announced just yet.
Following it’s stint in cinemas, Marty Supreme will be available to stream, however, which streaming service and when has not been announced either.
