Netflix’s Nobody Wants This was the surprise-hit rom-com we really didn’t want, but rather, needed. Thankfully, everyone’s favourite unsuspecting couple will be returning to screens soon, with Adam Brody and Kristen Bell set to reprise their roles as Noah and Joanne in a second season of Nobody Wants This.
Even more exciting news: Brody’s IRL wife, actress Leighton Meester is set to appear in the show’s next instalment.
Per Variety, Meester will play Abby, who is described as “Joanne’s middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.”
In addition to being married to Brody, Meester is well aquatinted with Bell, too. The pair appeared opposite each other in several episodes of the cult series Veronica Mars—though Meester is arguably best known for her role as the iconic Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl.
The actress isn’t the only new face joining the cast, either. Scroll on for everything we know about Nobody Wants This Season 2 so far, including the new faces to know and possible release date.

How Did Nobody Wants This Season 1 End?
The first season of Nobody Wants This was a total hit—and left us with a few unanswered questions.
The official series description from Netflix states:
“An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out—together—the unlikely pair, Joanne and Noah, can tell there is something between them. But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families—including her sister Morgan and his brother Sasha.”
The series builds up to a moment between Noah and Joanne, where the former asks the latter if she would convert to Judaism for him. While Joanne initially agrees, a run-in with Noah’s ex plants seeds to doubt that she may be doing so for the wrong reasons.
While Noah becomes a frontrunner for a head Rabbi job, he tells Joanne he loves her. She says it back but adds, “But because I love you, I can’t convert.”
“If I’m being honest, I was only doing it for you, and there’s so many beautiful things about Judaism, and I’m just not there yet, and I … I don’t know if I ever will be,” she says. “You can’t have both. And I would never make you choose.”
Joanne leaves the party and finds Noah waiting for her in the parking lot. He tells her: “Well, you were right, I can’t have both,” seemingly implying he chooses her. They kiss and the season ends.

What Will Season 2 Be About?
Few details about the plot of Nobody Wants This Season 2 have been released at the time of writing.
The story is loosely based on the life of show creator Erin Foster, who met her eventual husband when she was 35. Whether or not it continue to trace her real-life love story is unclear.
“It’s such an open-ended ending,” Brody told Today following the season finale. He added: “I think that we get the impression that they’re going to try to make it work and be together. And so what that looks like? I don’t think they know.”
Bell argued that the cliffhanger makes the show more exciting, too:“The reason you watch a show is to decide will they or won’t they. There’s so much real estate to play with when you’re writing about the challenges of different outlooks on life and love.”
Nobody Wants This Season 2 Cast
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody will return as Joanne and Noah in Nobody Wants This Season 2.
It seems Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman will also reprise their roles.
The existing cast will be joined by Leighton Meester, who will play parent blogger (and Joanne’s high school nemesis), Abby; as well as Miles Fowler, who will guest star as Lenny, said to be “Noah’s Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan,” per Variety.
