The second half of Outlander Season 7 has only just (finally) landed but Jamie and Claire’s time-jumping love story isn’t over yet.
Our favourite Scot and Sassenach will be back on screens again, with the network, Starz confirming that Outlander will return for an eighth—and final—season.

Will There Be Another Season of Outlander?
Starz confirmed that Outlander Season 8 was a go way back in January 2023.
In a statement, Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for the network said, “For nearly a decade Outlander has won the hearts of audiences worldwide and we’re pleased to bring Claire and Jamie’s epic love story to a proper conclusion…We’re thrilled to continue to partner with Matthew, Maril and Ronald and can’t wait to see where their alluring storytelling takes us next.”
How Many Episodes Will There Be?
Starz has confirmed that Outlander Season 8will be made up of ten episodes.

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will obviously be returning for their final run as the beloved Jamie and Claire. The duo have both shared some emotional pics from their final table read and filming to social media ahead of the season’s wrap.
Sophie Skelton will also return as Brianna and Richard Rankin as Roger. It is likely that Lauren Lyle will be back as Marsali, as well as César Domboy as Fergus.
Outlander Season 8 will also see some new names join the cast, including Kieran Bew, Frances Tomelty and Amaranthus Grey.
When Will Outlander Season 8 Be Released?
An official release date for Outlander Season 8 is yet to be announced.
However, Starz announced in late September 2024 that filming on the season had wrapped.
“Words cannot express the gratitude owed to each and every hard-working cast and crew member who brought this incredible series to life and every single fan who supports it with passion, creativity, and dedication,” they wrote on Instagram. “Outlander really is more than just a show, it’s a family, and while filming might be ending, there’s so much more to this journey that’s just beginning.”
So now, we just have to sit tight and wait for the announcement.
Is Season 8 the Last Season of Outlander?
Starz has confirmed that Season 8 will be the last instalment of Outlander as we know it.
However, the network has announced an upcoming prequel series, titled Blood of my Blood—which you can find out more about here.
