If Netflix’s new hit, Ransom Canyon has you dreaming of days in West Texas, you’re certainly not alone. The romantic western has climbed the streamer’s charts and won fans around the world since its release on April 17, 2025 (not to mention, filled the Yellowstone-size hole in our watch list).

Naturally, those who have binge-watched are already hungry for more of the Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly show. Luckily for fans, it looks like a second season is in the works.

Will There be a Season 2 of Ransom Canyon?

While neither Netflix nor the show’s creators have *officially* confirmed that Ransom Canyon has been greenlit for Season 2, a second instalment of the series seems promising.

April Blair, showrunner and co-creator, told TV Insider that she and the writers have already started preparing for a second season.

“We’ve already started the writers’ room, even though the show hasn’t been picked up to series yet for season 2,” she told the outlet.

So now, all we have to do is wait for Netflix to say the word.

What Will Ransom Canyon Season 2 Be About?

While we don’t yet know what Ransom Canyon Season 2 might be about, there are plenty of storylines for the writers to play with.

Blair hinted to TV Insider that there could be a six month time jump between seasons. Of Staten, she told the outlet, “We wanted to give him some hope and a little big of lightness. Quinn’s going to go off to New York and come back. How is he going to win her back if he’s still haunted? I don’t feel like he could ever truly move on in his heart and his mind until that mystery was settled.”

Ransom Canyon Season 2 Release Date

Season 2 hasn’t officially been confirmed by Netflix so it’s not yet possible to gauge a tentative release date. Given they’re already in the writer’s room, though, we hope it’s sooner rather than later!
