As Spider-Man fans will know, the franchise’s last move. Spider-Man: No Way Home, left us on a bit of a cliff-hanger. Does MJ forgetting Peter ring a bell?
Let’s recap. In the last film, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker opened the multiverse and allowed other Spider-Man’s, (played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield), to enter his universe. This caused his identity to be erased from his own universe, making every person who knew and loved him forget he exists. Devastating, right?
Well, don’t worry, the story isn’t finished—Spider-Man 4 is officially on its way and what’s reportedly in store is nearly as shocking as a spider bite.
In early March, Deadline confirmed that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is joining the cast of the No Way Home sequel. But here’s the million-dollar question: Who is she playing, and what does that mean for Peter Parker’s love life? Is MJ still in the picture, or could we be seeing a new leading lady take centre stage? (BRB, crying if that’s the case).
With a 2026 release date locked in, we’ve got the rundown on what to expect from the next chapter in Spidey’s saga.
Who is Sadie Sink Playing in Spider-Man?
So, according Deadline, Sadie has been cast in the Spider-Man sequel alongside returning star Tom Holland.
Although we are still eagerly awaiting confirmation on which character she might play, fans have speculated she could be introduced as X-Men mutant, Jean Grey. All we can say is that we hope she isn’t replacing Zendaya as MJ.
Although the reports of Sadie’s casting have not yet been confirmed by Marvel Studios or Sony Pictures, it’s pretty likely she is joining the MCU. In Hollywood, casting news is usually reported in trade publications before the studio confirms it, so don’t stress.

When Will Spider-Man 4 Be Released?
Okay so all we know so far is that the official release date is July 31, 2026, and production is expected to start sometime this year. Other than that, we’re a little short on the deets right now, sorry!
What we do know is that Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the fourth Spider-Man film, taking over for Jon Watts, who we can thank for the first three; Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige will serve as producers on the project; and ofc, the sequel comes from both Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.
Will Tom Holland & Zendaya Be In Spiderman 4?
Considering Tom Holland is currently filming The Odyssey, the latest film from Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan, we can only assume he will move onto Spider-Man when shooting concludes.
As for Zendaya, we can only hope she’ll be returning to the MCU as MJ, but nothing has been confirmed yet, unfortunately.
