The ability for a film to retain relevance two decades after its original release is enough to firmly solidify it in pop cultural canon. The Devil Wears Prada — the 2006 film that taught everyone what colour cerulean was, and made every girl simultaneously desperate to and terrified of working in a fashion magazine — is one such piece of art. And after years of speculation as to whether the film would, in fact, return to screens with a follow-up, it was confirmed earlier this year that the holy quadrangle (that is, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Emily Blunt as Emily and Stanley Tucci as Nigel) would be reunited.
If you’re the kind of person that deploys the phrase “by all means move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me” on a weekly basis, you’re probably chomping at the bit for any tidbits of information about the upcoming sequel. Fortunately, some intel on who else will be joining the O.Gs just landed, and let’s just hope they know how to spell Gabbana. Read on for the just-confirmed cast of the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Who Will Be In ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’?
Along with Hathaway, Streep, Blunt and Tucci, a lineup of stars have also been confirmed as new additions to The Devil Wears Prada 2 cast. Variety reports that Lucy Liu will be joining the gang, along with Simone Ashley, B.J Novak, Pauline Chalamet and Justin Theroux.
A few original side characters will also be resurfacing: Andy’s best friend Lily (played by Tracie Thoms) and chairman of Runway’s parent company Elias-Clark, Tibor Feldman (played by Irv Ravitz) are slated to return.

When Will ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Be Released?
Filming is already underway — we have goosebumps at the thought of the outfits — but we’ll have to gird our loins for a little longer. The film isn’t set to open in cinemas until May 1, 2026, but here’s hoping we get our hands on a trailer before the year’s up.
What Will ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Be About?
Where the original film followed Hathaway as the ultra-green assistant to Streep’s icy Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of the fictional Runway magazine who was allegedly based on another famously aloof fashion editor, the The Devil Wears Prada 2 will fast-forward a few years. Miranda Priestly is still an editor, only this time around she’s grappling to stay relevant (and rich) in the once-lucrative, now-struggling publishing industry. Emily, her former junior, is now a big-wig at a luxury fashion house, holding the cards as Miranda vies desperately for advertising dollars. As for where Andy Sachs and Nigel come into the fold is yet to be revealed, but don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted.
