Just when we thought we’d seen it all in sitcom land, Good Cop/Bad Cop has come along to give us exactly what we didn’t know we needed—hilarious characters, heaps of heart, and a dynamic that’s pure gold. Oh, and did we mention, Leighton Meester stars in it?
Yes, you heard us right, our beloved Blair Waldorf has traded her Manolos for a.. gun? And not only has our Upper East Side princess undergone a wardrobe refresh (more like downgrade), but she’s also traveled far from New York City—she’s come all the way down to Australia.
The comedy series began production in Queensland around April last year, with the Hollywood star being joined by a number of Australian actors—including her ever-so-charming co-star and on-screen brother, Luke Cook.

What’s Good Cop/Bad Cop About?
Good Cop/Bad Cop is an eight-part series (that’s eight episodes) that follows sibling detective duo Lou (Leighton Meester), and Henry (Luke Cook), working in a small Pacific Northwest police force.
(Unwillingly) they have been partnered up by the chief of police, Big Hank (aka their father, aka Clancy Brown), to deal with the “colourful” locals, a serious lack of resources and their complicated family dynamic.
But this isn’t your run-of-the-mill gruesome cop show, this one’s a light-hearted, easy to watch series that guarantees a little giggle.
Who's In The Cast?
Well, we already know that our fave Gossip Girl alum is starring, and ofc our very own Australian-made actor, Luke Cook, who also starred as Lucifer in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
“It is really exciting to collaborate with Roku and Stan on this great new series starring Leighton Meester, who we are honored to welcome home to The CW, where she launched her career and made Gossip Girl, one of the network’s most iconic and successful dramas of all time,” said The CW President of Entertainment, Brad Schwartz.
But thanks to its release, we now also know other cast members include William McKenna, Grace Chow, Scott Lee, Blazey Best, Phillipa Northeast, and Davon Terrell.

Although, the cast could’ve looked very different. Apparently, it took Luke some convincing to take the role—WHAT.
In an interview with TV WEEK, Luke said, “I originally said no to this audition because I didn’t think I could play him. But they came back and offered it again, so I gave it a go and got it. And since I’ve been playing Henry, I keep thinking, ‘What was I thinking?’ [turning it down]”
And knowing his co-stars were Hollywood stars was definitely a plus…
“A huge part of the excitement was getting to know Leighton and Clancy,” Luke said. “I met them just before shooting and we got along like a house on fire. Leighton and I got a chance to rehearse as brother and sister for one day [to work through their dynamic] and we figured out their back story.”
Luke also confessed he “didn’t know what to expect” from the power couple—that is Leighton Meester and Adam Brody—cause in case we didn’t mention, Adam Brody’s in the series too. To answer your question, no, it literally could not get any better.
Adam, much like his wife, also stole hearts during the 2000s, through his iconic, geeky-yet-charming role as Seth Cohen in The O.C. So we’d say the two are the perfect match. The couple are also due to co-star in Season 2 of Brody’s Netflix hit, Nobody Wants This (but more on that here)
Where Can You Watch Good Cop/Bad Cop?
Okay, so you can actually stream Good Cop/Bad Cop right now—we mean, IF you have Stan. If not, we don’t know what to tell you.. get a subscription girl (or log in to your boyfriend’s account, we won’t snitch).
The sitcom officially premiered on Stan on the 20th of February, so it’s all ready for you to binge.
So, what are you still doing here?
