Tonight, the third supermoon of the year is taking place and it’s going to be a pretty damn big one.

Peaking between 10pm and midnight across Australia, this bigger and brighter supermoon—known as the Harvest Moon—is set to amplify the energetic effects of a full moon, meaning you may feel its ultimate power within your current circumstances and future goals. TL;DR: if thins are feeling a little weird today, this might be why.

Scroll on for everything you need to know about the September supermoon, including when to watch it peak and what it means for *you*.

When Is the Supermoon In Australia?

The September supermoon—aka the Harvest Moon—is set to peak at 10.34pm AWST, 12.04pm ACST and 12.34pm AEST.

You can find out exactly when the moon will rise and set in your specific area here.

What's the Difference Between a Full Moon and a Supermoon?

The full moon is an astronomical event that occurs on a monthly basis when the sun and moon perfectly align on opposite sides of the Earth. When this happens, we can see the full face of the moon because 100 percent of the moon’s face is illuminated by the sun, giving us a perfect view of our only orbiting body from right down here on Earth, no telescope required.

A full moon gains the title of supermoon when it’s at the closest point to Earth during its orbit. There will be another big one on October 17 if you miss it tonight, however, according to NASA, September’s supermoon will be the biggest of the year.

What Does this Supermoon Mean *Astrologically*?

The September full moon in Pisces is a partial lunar eclipse, so you could see some serious changes in your emotional life, as our water sign friends tend to feel incredibly deeply when it comes to most matters.

Eclipses (and by extension, full moons generally) tend to bring closure. Plus. given Pisces is a very emotionally in-tune sign, this energy could impact whatever path you are currently most focused on, and it may start to feel a little intense during this time of healing and release. Areas of your life that may be effected by tonight’s supermoon can also be dictated by whichever, if any, houses Pisces occupies in your birth chart.

Tonight’s eclipse is also set to kick off a completely new eclipse season—meaning this first supermoon is an indicator of what may be in store for you come 2025.

How To Set Intention & Manifest During This Supermoon

When supermoons occur, they are known as an auspicious time for setting intentions and manifestations. As this coming moon will be the closest one in 2024, tonight is believed to be the most powerful night of the year to release what no longer serves you.

This simple ritual many choose to undertake during a supermoon to benefit from its heightened cosmic energy requires just two things—a pen and paper. You will want to title a blank page ‘I Have Released’, and then let your inner voice list some of the things that come front of mind; this is the best way to ensure that you address what has been causing you the most disservice. Make sure to write in the present tense instead of future to best manifest this change for yourself.

Happy manifesting!
