After a six year hiatus, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is making its return in 2024—and it’s going to be bigger, better and hopefully, more inclusive than ever.

After teasing a comeback with the (critically-panned) pre-filmed format, the Victoria’s Secret World Tour, last year, the company announced it would be bringing back the runway, with VSFS 2024 set to debut in New York this October.

Sarah Sylvester, head of marketing, and Janie Schaffer, chief design & creative officer, teased in a video: ““It’s going to be everything you loved about the show, but even better.”

CEO Timothy Johnson also said in a statement that the show will help Victoria’s Secret, “Reinforce our commitment to championing women’s voices and their unique perspectives.”

So far, we know the wings and the angels will be back—and some of the most iconic models from the brand’s history are set to return.

Why Was the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Cancelled?

Once a revered spectacle, the annual catwalk was cancelled in 2019 after a drop in sales and poor ratings, with viewership declining from five million in 2018 to 3.3 million in 2019.

The brand has also faced its fair share of controversy. In 2018, former CEO Les Wexner’s ties to Jeffery Epstein were uncovered. That same year, former CMO Ed Razek told Vogue that casting transgender models in the VSFS as it would ruin the “fantasy.” He also intimated that that he had no interest in making space for diverse bodies on the runway.

While Razek did apologise, his comments re-enforced that Victoria’s Secret was grossly behind the times; especially as Rihanna’s ultra-inclusive Savage x Fenty show—which featured a range of body types as well as queer, trans and non-binary models—was taking off the same year.

When Is VFSF 2024?

Victoria’s Secret has confirmed that the VSFS will return on October 15, 2024.

It’s not yet clear if this is the date of the runway/filming or the date it will be streamed.

What Models Will Be In The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024?

In a promotional video for the upcoming show, Victoria’s Secret revealed two of its cast members for VSFS 2024: Tyra Banks and Gigi Hadid.

Tyra was one of the OG angels (aka, a total icon) and Gigi made her debut in the 2015 show.

Janie Schaffer also teased that some other of the other veteran angels will be making a comeback. Previous Angels include the likes of Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bündchen, Miranda Kerr, Behati Prinsloo, Doutzen Kroes and Candice Swanepoel.

Behati and Candice have recently featured in some campaigns for the brand so… if that’s not a clue, we don’t know what it.

Sarah Sylvester also added that they will be “introducing some new faces that fans are going to fall in love with.”

Last year’s VS World Tour featured some of the industry’s brightest young talents, including Alex Consani,, Paloma Elsesser, Tess McMillan, Imaan Hammam, Amelia Gray and Mayowa Nicholas.
