When Does Spotify Wrapped Come Out this Year?
So here’s the sitch— Spotify hasn’t actually confirmed an official Wrapped release date… yet.
Despite having teased it all year, the waiting game is still on, and the drop day will likely not be made public knowledge right up until the streamer’s chosen date is upon us. Cruel, right?
However, if we take a look back over the Spotify Wrapped dates of the past, we can clearly see a trend that indicates we are not far off!
Check out the previous Spotify Wrapped release dates below:
- 2016 — Tuesday, December 6
- 2017 — Wednesday, December 6
- 2018 — Wednesday, December 5
- 2019 — Thursday, December 5
- 2020 — Wednesday, December 2
- 2021 — Wednesday, December 1
- 2022 — Wednesday, November 30
- 2023 — Thursday, November 30
So, if the past is any indication of the future, we could be taking our walks down musical memory lane sometime next week! Huzza!
When is the Cutt-Off For Streams that Make Up Your 2024 Spotify Wrapped?
If you are like us and the millions of other listeners who were under the impression we could start getting eclectic with our music streams post-October 31st, because we thought our perfectly tailored Pop Princess Spotify Wrapped scoreboard wouldn’t be tainted by a newfound appreciation for Emo rock—then you might want to sit down for this next part.
Spotify confirmed this year that it does not stop counting its users’ streams after Halloween each year, despite the long-running internet rumour. In a post to their Spotify News social media page on X, the words “Spotify wrapped doesn’t stop counting after October 31st” can be seen with a damn cute festive pumpkin graphic to really take the sting out of this life-altering news.

Unfortunately, in regards to when Spotify officially stops keeping count for the year, a definitive date has never been confirmed. However, we can make an educated guess that it’s probably around the late November/early December period.
We will be keeping a close eye on any new Spotify Wrapped announcements or postponements to the release date, so check back here for updates!
