01

The StandardX, Fitzroy

Melbourne’s newest boutique hotel feels right at home in Fitzroy, an inner-city
suburb known for its independent fashion boutiques, live music scene and queue-worthy cafes. The Standard’s 125 rooms are as stylish as the neighbourhood, with Frank Green coffee gear, Davines shampoo and 300-thread-count sheets. On the ground floor, vibrant Bang offers Thai-inspired all-day dining and Singha on tap.

Zagames House, Carlton

Looking to live the good life on a budget? Zagames House, on the very edge of the CBD, packs plenty of modern luxury into a reasonable nightly rate (by Melbourne standards, anyways). The corner frontage allows loads of natural light into slick rooms accented with brass, herringbone and leopard print. There are even “fur friendly” suites, if your pup would also enjoy a weekend of sipping lattes in laneways.

03

QT, Melbourne

The Melbourne location of this Aussie-owned luxury hotel chain is right on brand, with eclectic design channelling the city’s edgy energy. Think polished concrete ceilings, black steel lighting installations and a mini bar stocked with craft cocktails. Here’s the good news: you don’t need to be a guest to experience the best this hotel has to offer—a quick elevator ride will whisk you off Russell Street to QT’s famous rooftop bar.

The Royce, Melbourne

Live your most indulgent life at The Royce, a 100-room hotel in a near 100-year-old building that’s channelling some serious Gatsby vibes. Frock up for selfies on the sweeping marble staircase, or lounge around opulent bathrooms kitted out with deep soaking tubs. The Champagne Taittinger breakfast is a must—whether you enjoy it in the sun-drenched Terrace restaurant or in bed is up to you.

Hotel NO, Melbourne

If you’ve ever dreamed of spending the night in a caravan on a rooftop in Melbourne, here’s your chance. In a twist even Melburnians didn’t see coming, this “No Hotel” (geddit?) brings red carpet, silver airstreams, pink rain showers and queen-sized beds to Flinders Lane. Perks include a free in-room bar and nine holes of mini golf on the house at neighbour, Holey Moley.
