Get ready to snap your fingers and dive back into the eerily enchanting world of Wednesday! That’s right—everyone’s favourite darkly witty, psychic sleuth is returning for Season 2, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
Season 1, which premiered on November 16, 2022, took fans by storm. Jenna Ortega masterfully brought Wednesday Addams to life, capturing her razor-sharp wit and unflinching resolve as she honed her psychic powers while unravelling a supernatural mystery tied to her parents’ shadowy past.
With the legendary Tim Burton bringing the series to the screen, this gothic tale captivated viewers and left us all clamouring for more. It quickly became an Emmy winning, spooky-season sensation—and we’re certain the new season will cast an even stronger spell.

What is the Plot of Wednesday Season 2?
While we don’t know the exact plot of Wednesday Season 2, we can infer that the plot will have all the spooks from Season 1... and more. The first season followed Wednesday’s first year as a student at Nevermore Academy, including her attempts to master her psychic abilities, thwart a monstrous killing spree that was terrorising her local town and solve the supernatural mystery that enraptured her parents 25 years ago. The finale left fans with multiple cliffhangers and a surprising twist —so we know that there is a lot to unravel in Season 2!
The masterminds behind Wednesday, co-show runners Miles Millar and Al Gough, have already hinted at spine-chilling plans to expand her world. In an interview with TV Line, they spilled the (poisoned) tea: they’ve mapped out storylines that could take us through four seasons!
“We felt like we just touched the surface with those characters, and the actors are so amazing in those roles,” Millar said. He also acknowledged that the show’s focus on Wednesday Addams and her journey “to forge her own path outside the family is important,” but that the writers’ room would “definitely” be interested in featuring more of the Addams family dynamic in future seasons.

“For us, it’s always looking at the future, and when we sit down to create a show, it’s looking at multiple seasons, ideally,” Millar explained to Variety. “That’s never expected, but that’s the anticipation that hopefully the show is successful. So you always lay out at least three or four seasons’ worth of potential storylines for the characters. It can evolve and change. Often, you want to see which characters or cast pop and who you like to write for. So you want to keep it open and organic enough to change it and evolve, but we certainly have a pretty clear runway of what we want to do in future seasons.”
The visual effects team for Wednesday told J-14 which characters they would like to explore more in the second season. At the top of that list? Thing. “I think it would be fantastic to explore what may have happened to lead him to be severed, possibly,” said Lon Molnar, co-president of the MARZ VFX team. They also expressed that they’d be excited to do “anything with that character front and centre.”
Jenna Ortega also expressed what she’d like to see from Wednesday in future seasons. “I kind of want her to be darker,” Ortega told Entertainment Tonight in November 2022. “I want her to get more in the nitty-gritty of things and not play things so safe, because there are a lot of lines about her saving the school and doing whatever, but for me, her main drive with the monster is of competitiveness. Kind of, ‘Man, how’s this guy doing this?’”

“I think I want it to continue down an antihero stream rather than a typical hero,” added Ortega. While guest appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon back in March 2023, Ortega shared some exciting new details on the progress of season 2 and where the plot is headed.
“We just started getting a writers’ room together and kind of talking about it, and everyone’s being really cool,” said Ortega. “I think we want to up the horror aspect of it a little bit and then get Wednesday out of the romantic situation and just let her be her own individual and fight her own crime.”
Who is the Cast?
It’s official—the Wednesday cast just got even more ICONIC!
As if Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta Jones weren’t enough, the one and only Lady Gaga is set to appear in Season 2 in a mysterious cameo role, as confirmed by Entertainment Weekly. While filming is already underway in Ireland, Variety revealed that the production team initially hoped for a bigger role for Gaga, but her cameo is sure to be a show-stopper!

Last year, Ortega herself foreshadowed Gaga appearing on the show. While speaking to Variety at the 2023 Golden Globes she said, “I’m sure Netflix would love that … Miss Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird kind of mentor relationship or understood each other in a certain way, so if Lady Gaga were to be a part of [Wednesday], they’d have to be two monsters who understand each other.”
It’s a case of out with the old, however, because Percy Hynes White—who played Xavier Thorpe—will not be returning for Wednesday Season 2. In a Story shared to Instagram following news his role had been axed, he expressed, “I had so much fun working on this show. I can’t wait to watch Season 2. Much love.”
The rest of the confirmed cast includes:
- Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Adams
- Catherine Zeta-Jones, as Wednesday’s mom Morticia Addams
- Luis Guzmán as Wednesday’s dad Gomez Addams
- Isaac Ordonez as Wednesday’s younger brother Pugsley Addams
- Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Sheriff Deputy Ritchie Santiago
- Billie Piper as Capri
- Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort
- Evie Templeton
