If you’ve seen the new Netflix documentary, A Deadly American Marriage, then you’re probably already across the chilling tale of Jason Corbett, the Irish businessman who sadly lost his life at the hands of his wife, Molly Martens, and her father, Tom Martens, leaving behind his two young children, Sarah and Jack.
Now 19-years-old, Sarah has spoken out in the Netflix documentary, opening up about her father’s murder, revealing her version of the truth of Molly and Jason’s relationship.
Read on for an explainer.
Were Sarah & Jack Involved In Jason's Death?
Jack was just ten-years-old, and Sarah only eight at the time their father was killed.
Neither of the children were involved in Jason’s death, but following their father’s murder, both Sarah and Jack claimed they witnessed abuse at home. However, both of them now claim they were trained by Molly to lie to the police.
In initial interviews with police, the siblings — who had relocated to their father’s hometown of Limerick, Ireland, to live with their aunt and uncle — said they missed living with Molly. In the 2025 documentary, Sarah and Jack explain that they feel Molly is a convincing liar who ruined their memory of their father, whom they describe in the documentary as being “amazing.”
