How Are You Actually Supposed To Style A Labubu?

They’re so ugly they’re cute, but does anyone actually know how to wear these things?

The weirdness of 2025 knows no bounds. And no accessory encapsulates this very peculiar, rather unhinged mood of the moment better than the Labubu. For the uninitiated, you can read our full explainer here, but as a topline, Labubus are collectable trinkets-slash-plush toys you’ve probably seen swinging from bag handles and belt loops, if not IRL then at least on Kim Kardashian’s story. They’re bunny shaped and fleece-covered, and they’re almost cute, until you see their signature devilish grins.

It’s no secret we’re firmly in a collectables era — Pokemon cards have given way to plush toys and Sonny Angels — so it’s unsurprising that Labubus have resonated at a time when we all just want to have a bit of fun and hang something silly off our handbag. But Labubus are no endearingly sweet Sonny Angel or quirky-chic Loewe leather elephant. They’re quite literally a stuffed toy (and a rather creepy one at that), which makes them more than a little challenging to style.

After poring over Instagram posts and paparazzi shots, we’ve compiled a definitive guide to incorporating the internet’s favourite freaky and fluffy friend into your ensembles…should you be so inclined.

Sure, you could just carry around your Hermès Birkin as it is, or you could do as Dua does and tether not one but two Labubus to its pebbled leather handle. A Louis Vuitton Speedy Soft 30 is chic on its own, but wouldn’t you rather a Lychee Berry Labubu swing from its chain as you go about your day? The latest luxury flex isn’t the handbag you own, but the Labubus you hang from it. We don’t make the rules.

Get Belted

Hanging your keys from your belt loops might be daggy, but a Labubu? Far more fun. Forego a belt (or sub in a slender one) and affix a plush little gremlin to one of the loops instead. Maybe you keep it tonal with a more demure Labubu or perhaps you lean right in with something poppy and colourful. Self-serious, who?

If you can tie a silk scarf through your ponytail, who’s to say you can’t do the same with a Labubu? Tie your hair up before clipping one of the little characters around your elastic. The Labubu knocking against your head might drive you mad, but so cute, no?!

Wrist Assessment

If you never moved on from wearing a scrunchie around your wrist despite everyone else letting it go, firstly, we salute you. Secondly, guess who has the last laugh now? Let 90s nostalgia merge with 2025 collectable fever by clipping a Labubu to the scrunchie around your wrist. Consider it an IYKYK charm bracelet.
